Ride-hailing and services platform Careem has officially expanded its operations in Sharjah, introducing a broader range of offerings beyond transportation.

Careem food delivery now live

Residents in Sharjah can now use Careem Food, the platform’s food delivery service, which features local favourites like Zaatar w Zeit, Zam Zam Mandi, and Mashawi Al Halabya, as well as international chains including Nando’s, IHOP, and Wingstop.

Careem says its delivery network uses advanced dispatch technology to ensure on-time service. To mark the launch, customers in Sharjah are being offered 50% off their first three food orders with the promo code HELLOSHJ3.

Additional services

In addition to food delivery, Sharjah residents can now access Careem Box, a service for item pickup and drop-off across the city, and Careem Home Services, which include cleaning, laundry, and at-home spa treatments.

These offerings build on Careem’s existing services in Sharjah, such as Careem Rides, Careem Pay for bill payments and money transfers, and in-app Donations.

Bassel Al Nahlaoui, Chief Business Officer at Careem, said: “Sharjah has long been central to our vision at Careem. While we’ve been helping customers in Sharjah get around with Careem Rides and manage their payments with Careem Pay, many have been eagerly waiting for our other services, especially Careem Food and Box. We’re excited to finally deliver what our customers have been asking for, with even more launching soon to simplify everyday life for the Sharjah community.”

Upcoming launches

Careem’s monthly subscription program, Careem Plus, is set to launch in Sharjah on October 15, offering average monthly savings of Dhs300, according to the company.

Additional services planned for later this year include Careem Quik (15-minute grocery and electronics delivery), Careem Shops, and Careem Car Rental, expanding the platform’s presence across the emirate.

The Sharjah rollout is part of Careem’s broader expansion across the UAE, where it already operates in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain.
