UAE fintech platform Botim has partnered with Philippine digital finance platform GCash to expand digital remittance services for Filipinos sending money from the UAE to the Philippines.
The partnership comes as digital money transfers between the two countries continue to grow, with Botim reporting a significant increase in remittance activity through its platform during the first eight months of 2026.
Remittances to Philippines rise
Botim said the total value of remittances sent to the Philippines through its app increased by 145% year on year during the first eight months of 2026.
The company also reported growth in transaction volumes and a 115% increase in its transacting user base over the same period, indicating rising use of digital channels for cross-border money transfers.
Direct transfers to GCash wallets
Under the new partnership, Botim users in the UAE can send money directly to GCash wallets in the Philippines.
The service is designed to provide Filipino residents in the UAE with another digital option for transferring money to family members and other recipients in the Philippines.
Once received, funds in GCash wallets can be used for a range of financial activities, including bill payments, everyday purchases, transfers, savings and investments.
Botim’s Filipino user base
Botim said it currently has 548,000 verified Filipino users in the UAE, representing more than 60% of the Filipino community in the country, according to the company.
The platform also said that 2.2 million people in the Philippines used Botim over the past year, highlighting its presence on both sides of the UAE-Philippines remittance corridor.
GCash, meanwhile, has more than 94 million registered users in the Philippines.
Focus on cross-border finance
Hesham Sherif, VP of Remittance at Botim, said the UAE-Philippines corridor reflects the importance of remittances to Filipino workers and their families.
He said the partnership is intended to connect Botim users with financial platforms and services they already use in the Philippines.
Jonathan Que, GCash International General Manager, said the collaboration would give Filipinos in the UAE direct access to GCash wallets when sending money to recipients in the Philippines.
Botim expands remittance network
Botim said it has more than 160 million users globally and is expanding its financial services across several major remittance markets.
The company currently identifies the Philippines, India, Pakistan and Egypt among its priority remittance corridors.
The partnership with GCash adds another connection between Botim’s remittance services in the UAE and a digital financial ecosystem in the recipient market.
