Dubai Duty Free recorded its highest-ever sales for the month of September, reaching Dhs 672 million. The figure marks an 11.9% year-on-year increase, exceeding the previous record set in 2024.

The growth came despite passenger traffic rising by only 4.2%, indicating a significant rise in average spend per traveller. Year-to-date sales have now reached Dhs 6.075 billion, up 7.45% compared to the same period last year.

Key product categories saw strong growth during the month, including confectionery (up 57.7%), gold (21.9%), and fashion (21.5%). Electronics also grew by 10%, helped in part by the launch of the iPhone 17, which contributed nearly Dhs 9.7 million in just 12 days of sales.

New luxury openings, including boutiques by Louis Vuitton and Cartier at Dubai International Airport, were also credited for driving customer spend and footfall.

Dubai Duty Free said the results reflect both strong consumer demand and its ongoing efforts to enhance the retail experience across airport terminals.
