In a significant update to the UAE’s visa application process, authorities have mandated that all applicants for entry permits must now submit a copy of their passport’s external cover page.

This new requirement applies to all nationalities and visa categories, including tourist, business, transit, and multi-entry visas.

According to Khaleej Times, this change was implemented following a notice from the immigration departments, effective immediately.

Required documents for UAE visa

Applicants are now required to provide their passport copy, a clear passport-size photo, hotel booking confirmation, round-trip ticket copy, and the passport’s external cover page when applying for an entry permit.

Gulf News also reported that Amer Centres in Dubai and typing centres in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi have received circulars from immigration departments this month introducing the new requirement.

The notice stated: “Passport external page has been added as a mandatory document for all entry permit applications. This requirement applies to all nationalities and all visa types and affects the following application types – new entry permit.”

Applicants are advised to ensure that all required documents, including the passport cover page, are submitted to avoid delays or rejections in the visa application process.

For the latest requirements and guidance, individuals should check with the relevant authorities, such as the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai).

This update reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to streamline immigration procedures and enhance security measures for travellers.
