UAE residents have the chance to enjoy a long 10-day holiday during the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations in 2025, thanks to a combination of public holidays and annual leave.
UAE Eid Al Adha holidays 2025
The holiday period will begin with Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam, which is expected to fall on Friday, June 6, 2025.
This will be followed by the Eid Al Adha holiday, from Saturday, June 7 to Monday, June 9, giving residents a four-day break in total. These dates are subject to moon sighting, but this is the expected schedule for 2025.
Extend your vacation to 10 days
For those looking to maximize their time off, it’s possible to stretch the break to 10 days by using annual leave. If employees take leave from Tuesday, June 10 to Friday, June 13, they can enjoy a full 10-day holiday, returning to work on Monday, June 16.
This extended holiday offers a great opportunity to relax, travel, or spend quality time with family and friends.
Festival of sacrifice
Eid Al Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to God. Families typically mark the occasion with special prayers, festive meals, and charity by sharing the meat of sacrificed animals with those in need.
