In 2025, the UAE residents are in for an extended holiday season, thanks to the Islamic holidays of Eid Al Fitr.
With some smart planning, you could enjoy a much longer break than the standard public holidays, and here’s how you can do it.
2025 Eid holidays in UAE
Eid Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, offers UAE residents a chance to enjoy up to four days off.
According to the UAE Cabinet, the first three days of Shawwal (the month that follows Ramadan) are designated as public holidays. If Ramadan is a full 30 days, the 30th of Ramadan will also be a holiday, extending your break from Ramadan 30 to Shawwal 3 — a full four-day holiday.
However, if Ramadan only lasts 29 days, the holiday period will be limited to the first three days of Shawwal.
For example, if Ramadan starts on Saturday, March 1, and ends on Sunday, March 30, Eid Al Fitr would likely fall from Monday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 2.
If you’re feeling ambitious and want to extend your time off, consider taking leave on Thursday, April 3, and Friday, April 4. By doing this, you could enjoy a continuous nine-day break to relax, recharge, and spend time with family.
