Emirates will offer a range of traditional meals and refreshments to customers during Ramadan. In Dubai International Airport lounges, passengers will enjoy Arabic sweets, dates, coffee, and traditional dishes such as lamb mandi, chicken machboos, and pistachio kunafa.
Lounges in Cairo and Jeddah will also serve similar Ramadan treats.
Iftar boxes at boarding gates
To support fasting passengers, Emirates will distribute complimentary iftar boxes at select boarding gates. These will contain dates, laban, water, and a banana, providing a convenient and thoughtful way for passengers to break their fast.
Iftar time announcements
Emirates ensures accurate iftar timings for fasting passengers using a unique tool that calculates the exact time for iftar based on the aircraft’s location. The captain will announce the iftar time when the sun sets, ensuring precision for passengers.
Ramadan meal boxes onboard
Throughout Ramadan, Emirates will offer special iftar meal boxes across all cabin classes. These include light bites like hummus, Arabic bread, and sweet treats like baklava, along with wraps such as chicken zaatar or lamb shawarma. The boxes, designed to reflect traditional Islamic art, complement the regular meal service.
Support for Umrah travellers
Emirates will serve Ramadan meal boxes on flights to Jeddah and Medina for Umrah passengers. Additionally, passengers are allowed to check in one bottle of Zamzam water, up to 5 liters, at Dubai International Airport and selected airports in Saudi Arabia.
During Ramadan, Emirates’ ice entertainment system will feature special religious content in Arabic and Urdu, including the Holy Qur’an, Ramadan-themed series, and podcasts. Passengers can also enjoy a wide selection of movies, music, and popular TV shows in Arabic.
Emirates provides Ramadan awareness training for cabin crew and ground staff to ensure they understand the cultural significance of the month and can offer exceptional service to Muslim passengers.
