Union Coop has completed a major expansion of its Hatta branch at Hatta Souq, increasing retail space and product availability to meet growing demand in the area.
Hatta branch expansion
The retail cooperative expanded the Hatta branch from 2,163.55 square feet to 11,625 square feet, increasing the store size by about 437 percent. The larger space allows for improved store layout, clearer zoning and smoother customer movement.
Alongside the physical expansion, Union Coop significantly increased the number of products available at the branch. Stock Keeping Units rose from 4,013 to 12,091, a 201 percent increase. The addition of 8,078 new items expanded choice across several product categories.
The expansion work was carried out in phases from the end of the fourth quarter of 2025 through the current period. The focus was on improving internal layouts, increasing retail capacity and enhancing category depth to make shopping more accessible and organised.
Further additions planned
Union Coop said work is ongoing to further strengthen the branch by adding more products and introducing new categories, based on customer demand and consumption trends.
The cooperative stated that the Hatta branch expansion forms part of its wider strategy to support local development across Dubai, strengthen its presence in residential and tourist areas, and improve access to everyday shopping needs for local communities.
