As the festive season approaches, the travel industry is buzzing with excitement, as people look forward to exploring new destinations and creating unforgettable memories. This holiday season, UAE residents are venturing to a mix of winter escapes and tropical getaways, reflecting changing preferences and diverse travel trends.
Baku and Tbilisi top the list
Rikant Pittie, Co-founder of EaseMyTrip, shared insights into the travel trends shaping this holiday season.
“This holiday season, UAE residents are exploring a mix of winter getaways and tropical escapes, showcasing evolving preferences. Baku and Tbilisi have seen a remarkable rise in popularity, with surges increasing by 515% and 210% year-on-year, respectively, thanks to their festive charm and winter activities.
“Traditional European destinations like Paris (+235%) and London (+205%) remain favourites, while Doha has spiked by (+235%) and offers luxury and culture closer to home. Zanzibar, Singapore, and Phuket are top choices for those seeking warmer climates for their scenic beaches and vibrant dining scenes. Despite a 10.81% rise in airfares, which is higher on average than during the same period last year due to increased demand and inflation, travellers prioritize experiences over costs. This trend highlights resilience in travel demand, with people valuing unique and memorable holidays.”
As travel demand rises, with an increase in both destinations and flight prices, it’s clear that travellers are prioritizing experiences over costs, demonstrating resilience in the face of inflation and rising airfares. Whether seeking winter wonderlands or sun-kissed beaches, UAE residents are set to make this holiday season one of adventure and cherished memories.
