Al Fujairah National Insurance Co. (AFNIC) has introduced “floodGuard,” the first insurance product in the region specifically designed to cover accidental loss or damage from floods, storms, and heavy rains for third-party insured motorists.

floodGuard provides essential coverage for personal or company-owned vehicles used for personal or recreational purposes, especially those over 7 years old that may not qualify for comprehensive insurance.

“Following the recent heavy rains in the UAE, AFNIC’s new product offers significant relief to private car owners. We are proud to be the first to launch this innovative insurance solution in the UAE,” said Antoine Maalouli, CEO of AFNIC.

“Our goal is to meet our clients’ changing needs and provide them with the peace of mind they require in today’s unpredictable environment.”

Policyholders can choose coverage limits of Dhs25,000 or Dhs50,000 for a 12-month term. The policy can be purchased quickly and easily online through AFNIC’s website at afnicfloodguard.ae or via the AFNIC mobile app, with the process taking less than five minutes.

It is also available at any AFNIC branch or from over 40 authorized outlets, including vehicle testing centers across the UAE.

floodGuard will become effective 15 days after the policy start date, so early purchase is recommended. This product is a standalone insurance option and does not replace existing Motor Comprehensive, Motor Third Party Liability (TPL), or Statutory Vehicle Insurance. It is designed to be compatible with existing Motor TPL policies from AFNIC or other insurers.
