Hotels across the UAE hosted over 16.1 million guests during the first half of 2025, marking a 5.5% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism.

Steady growth in hospitality

Speaking during the third Hospitality Advisory Council meeting of the year, Al Marri highlighted the continued growth of the hospitality sector, describing it as a reflection of the UAE’s resilience and appeal as a global tourism destination.

He attributed the sector’s strong performance to collaboration between government bodies and private operators, stating:

“This sector, thanks to the wise leadership’s directives, continues to achieve increasing growth rates that reflect its attractiveness and competitiveness at both regional and global levels.”

During the meeting, key indicators for the first six months of 2025 were reviewed. The total number of hotel nights rose to 56 million, up by 7.3% year-on-year. The average length of stay reached 3.5 nights.

There are currently 1,243 hotel establishments operating in the UAE, offering more than 216,000 rooms across the country.

Focus on investment

Council members also discussed national initiatives aimed at boosting investment in the hospitality sector and enhancing the UAE’s long-term position as a leading global tourist destination.

The meeting brought together officials from both public and private sectors, including leaders of major local and international hotel chains.
