The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has issued a warning to Emirati citizens against performing Hajj without an official permit, stating that violators will face a Dhs50,000 fine.
Strict permit rules
The authority emphasized that only those with an officially approved permit may travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. It urged citizens to comply with all related regulations, citing the legal and financial risks of attempting the pilgrimage without proper documentation.
“Any UAE citizen found in Saudi Arabia for Hajj without the necessary permit will face a fine of Dhs50,000,” the authority said in a statement.
Safety and compliance
The Hajj permit system is part of broader efforts by the UAE and Saudi Arabia to manage pilgrim numbers, ensure safety, and maintain order during the pilgrimage season.
The authority added that citizens must “strictly adhere to the official regulations and guidelines,” noting that violators will be “held fully accountable and subject to legal consequences.”
Orderly pilgrimage
The reminder comes as the Hajj season approaches and is part of wider efforts to promote safe and well-organized pilgrimages for UAE nationals.
The system also ensures that religious rituals are performed in accordance with both Saudi and UAE protocols.
