The UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) has announced the launch of the country’s first national Drone Cybersecurity Guidelines, aimed at protecting unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations from growing cyber threats.
Public-private collaboration
Developed in collaboration with Reach Digital—a subsidiary of Reach Group focused on digital transformation— and cybersecurity firm Shieldworkz, the guidelines are designed to enhance the security and resilience of drone technologies used across sectors.
The initiative supports the UAE’s broader goal of strengthening national cybersecurity and positioning the country as a global leader in technology and innovation.
Protecting drone operations
“These guidelines represent a vital milestone in enhancing the nation’s UAV ecosystem, ensuring that drone operations across government, commercial, and industrial sectors are resilient, secure, and aligned with global best practices,” said Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity.
He added, “With increasing UAV deployment across sectors from agriculture, environmental monitoring to logistics, cybersecurity risks must be proactively addressed to protect airspace, infrastructure, and data integrity.”
