The UAE’s transport system and supply chains are operating normally, with authorities maintaining steady movement of goods and services across the country, according to Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
Supply stability
Al Mazrouei said the system is functioning within an integrated national framework that supports market stability and ensures essential goods continue to reach across the UAE without disruption.
He noted that the framework is led by the Supply and Transport Committee, which oversees freight movement and works to maintain consistent logistics operations in line with the country’s strategic needs.
Oversight measures
“The committee has adopted a package of regulatory and oversight measures, including assessing the country’s requirements for essential goods, updating priority lists, and approving integrated operational plans in cooperation with port operators, covering handling, transport, and storage operations, in a manner that ensures the uninterrupted continuity of trade flows,” he said.
Authorities are also coordinating with federal and local entities to monitor shipments and manage distribution routes, helping strengthen preparedness and support supply chain continuity.
National coordination
Al Mazrouei said a dedicated national team has been formed to oversee freight operations, expand alternative routes and monitor market conditions. This aims to ensure stable supply and faster response to any emerging challenges.
He added that flexible licensing measures have been introduced for transport companies, alongside support for logistics providers to maintain uninterrupted services.
“The UAE has adopted a proactive approach to developing its supply system through investment in advanced infrastructure, the launch of a package of flexible initiatives, and the strengthening of partnerships with the private sector, which represents a key pillar in the operation and management of supply chains, thereby contributing to enhanced operational efficiency and faster response to changing developments,” he said.
Ports and logistics
According to Al Mazrouei, UAE ports are operating efficiently, supported by advanced systems and strict regulatory procedures. Maritime operations are being managed based on approved priorities, with regular reporting to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Ports across the country have handled more than 25,000 containers since the start of March 2026, reflecting continued operational capacity.
He also said maritime assets on the UAE’s eastern coast are operating at full capacity, serving as a key logistics gateway to support trade flows.
Transport network
An operational plan has been implemented for road and rail transport, including adjustments to routes and truck operating hours, as well as improved links to storage facilities to speed up cargo movement.
Authorities continue to monitor vessel activity in UAE waters in coordination with relevant entities to maintain safety and security standards.
Al Mazrouei added that the UAE is working closely with Gulf Cooperation Council countries to facilitate trade and strengthen regional supply chains.
He said these measures support economic stability and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global hub for transport and logistics.
