Zayed International Airport recorded higher passenger and flight traffic in late June, with average daily volumes exceeding the levels seen during the same period last year, according to Abu Dhabi Airports.
The airport handled an average of more than 93,000 passengers and nearly 500 flights a day between June 26 and 30, connecting travellers to more than 100 destinations worldwide.
Traffic growth
Abu Dhabi Airports said the increase was driven by continued travel demand, the performance of Abu Dhabi’s home-based airlines and the expansion of airline partners across its network.
The airport’s terminal, equipped with biometric-enabled services, also supported higher passenger volumes by helping improve operational efficiency and the travel experience.
Route expansion
Zayed International Airport currently serves more than 100 destinations, with additional routes planned in the coming months.
Abu Dhabi Airports said it will continue investing in airport infrastructure, airline partnerships and passenger services as it expands connectivity and supports the emirate’s position as an international hub for travel, trade and tourism.
