Parkin Company PJSC has started rolling out AI-powered parking camera systems across several areas in Dubai as part of efforts to improve parking management and support smart mobility projects in the emirate.
The company said more than 500 curb and pole cameras are being installed in Trade Centre 1, Burj Khalifa and Al Corniche during the first phase of the project. Parkin said the curb-side cameras are the first of their kind in the region.
Another 200 cameras will also be deployed in controlled parking areas across Dubai.
Smart parking
The camera systems use AI technology to capture vehicle images, read number plates and record entry and exit times. The system can also calculate parking duration, process automatic fee payments and detect parking violations.
According to the company, all cameras will operate using solar power and support real-time parking occupancy monitoring.
The system will be integrated with the Parkin App, allowing users to make automatic payments through the Parkin Wallet feature.
Traffic management
Parkin said the technology is expected to improve parking availability, reduce congestion caused by drivers searching for parking spaces and support more efficient parking operations across Dubai.
Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said: “Adopting advanced smart technologies remains central to how Parkin continues to enhance parking management across Dubai. This rollout marks an important step in scaling our smart parking infrastructure and strengthening how customers interact with parking across the Emirate. We remain focused on enabling more efficient access to parking and ensuring seamless management for customers across every aspect of their parking journey, while supporting Dubai’s vision for smarter and more connected urban mobility.”
App integration
Eng. Talal Al Ajmi, CTO of Parkin, said: “This deployment marks an important step in advancing Parkin’s smart parking technology, with camera systems and real-time data enabling more efficient and connected parking operations across the Emirate. Integration with the Parkin App supports a more streamlined approach to parking management, improving accuracy and consistency across operations. As we continue to develop our systems, we remain focused on delivering scalable and secure solutions that support the continued expansion of our smart parking capabilities.”
The company added that the first phase is aimed at reducing the time drivers spend searching for parking spaces while enabling automatic payments through the app.
