Hong Kong is set to become a premier travel destination for GCC tourists, thanks to a new partnership between the UAE’s leading travel platform, musafir.com, and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed during Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, marks a significant step in enhancing Hong Kong’s presence in the Middle East.
The agreement was formalized by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani, Chairman and Co-Founder of musafir.com, and Ms. Becky Ip, Deputy Executive Director of HKTB, alongside key figures including Sachin Gadoya, CEO of musafir.com, and Miss Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Hong Kong SAR Government.
Tailored travel packages and Arabic support
Under this partnership, musafir.com will offer curated travel packages for GCC travellers. These packages will include flights, hotel stays, custom itineraries, and Arabic-language support, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Additionally, a dedicated landing page will streamline bookings for GCC audiences, making it easier to explore Hong Kong.
Hong Kong’s growing appeal to Muslim travellers
Recognized as the 4th most Muslim-friendly non-OIC destination in the Mastercard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index 2024, Hong Kong has made significant strides in catering to Muslim tourists.
The city now boasts over 160 halal-certified dining options and prayer facilities. It also offers exclusive, luxury experiences through the “Travel in Luxe Hong Kong” program, which includes private shopping, VIP access to Hong Kong Disneyland, and helicopter tours over Victoria Harbour.
Hong Kong offers a blend of cultural heritage, modern attractions, and nature that appeals to all types of travellers. From families enjoying Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park to culture seekers exploring temples and art centres, the city has something for everyone.
Nature lovers can hike scenic trails like Dragon’s Back, while luxury travellers can indulge in wellness retreats and world-class shopping. For food lovers, Hong Kong is a haven of Michelin-starred dim sum and authentic Cantonese street food.
As Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani of musafir.com stated, “Hong Kong’s blend of heritage, modernity, and premium experiences makes it an ideal destination for GCC travellers seeking both adventure and indulgence.”
This partnership aims to showcase Hong Kong’s rich diversity, inviting GCC travellers to experience the city’s unique offerings.
