Khaleej Times stops printing on weekends

The UAE-based English newspaper Khaleej Times has decided to stop printing the physical newspaper on weekends.

In a letter dated May 30, 2023, sent to business partners and advertisers, Khaleej Times has informed that it would stop publishing on Saturdays and Sundays, effective from June 3, 2023.

“We hope this finds you well. We wanted to take a moment to share some exciting updates regarding Khaleej Times. As part of our digital-first strategy and commitment to sustainability, we will be implementing changes to our print publication schedule, effective June 3.

“As a trusted partner, we value your support and want to ensure that you are aware of adjustments we are making. One of the changes we are introducing as part of this strategy is the discontinuation of the Saturday and Sunday print editions of Khaleej Times. By streamlining our operations, we can focus on further enhancing our offerings and delivering even more value-based content to our esteemed readers, with a more sustainable approach to news dissemination.

“By adopting this approach, we contribute to a greener future for our community and the environment. On June 1, 2023, Khaleej Times published an editorial on its front page informing its readers about the discontinuation of its print edition on Saturdays and Sundays. However, it said that KT will continue to provide a full complement of news, views, features and analysis on its print and digital platform.
