The Dubai Esports and Games Festival (DEF) is set to bring back its flagship event, GameExpo, from May 9 to 11 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Now hosted in Zabeel Halls 2 and 3, this year’s event promises expanded programming, immersive activities, and free-to-play experiences for visitors of all ages.

Eight themed zones
GameExpo 2025 will feature eight interactive zones, offering everything from nostalgic arcade games to modern esports tournaments. All zones are open to the public free of charge.
The Retro Zone will feature classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Donkey Kong, alongside a custom-built RC racing track by Otaku ME and a hands-on building workshop.
Returning this year, the Emirates NBD Family Zone offers inclusive gaming for all ages, including the Emirates NBD Fortnite Map, XBOX, and PlayStation setups.
Esports and tournaments
The Main Arena will host competitive gaming on a state-of-the-art stage, with events featuring EA FC 25, Tekken 8, Valorant, and Fortnite. The Gaming District will showcase over 100 devices and titles, including games from local UAE developers Foxrito and Dark Emerald Studio.
The DEF Main Stage will spotlight inter-school gaming finals, top streamers, Red Bull match-ups, and showdowns in games like Minecraft and Fortnite. Two talabat Food and Beverage Zones will provide a variety of dining options.
New GameExpo features
New additions this year include The Amazon Quest, a real-life challenge arena from Amazon.ae featuring four interactive tasks and prize opportunities. Ubisoft’s Just Dance Zone will also debut, offering dance-offs and themed photo experiences. The Dubai Just Dance Championship takes place on 11 May at 3PM, with finalists competing for prizes including a Nintendo Switch.
Taking place on 10 and 11 May, Play Beyond will feature leading gaming influencers and esports professionals. “MENA’s leading influencer, Abo Flah, will return to the stage,” joined by Sultan Khalifa, 6th_kage, Mr. Warta, and Khaled Dego.
Cosplay Championships
The Dubai Cosplay Championship will be held on 11 May, offering cash prizes up to Dhs 30,000. The event includes the Cosplay Opening Act, Daily Cosplay Catwalk, and the final competition. Registration closes 7 May.

Visitors can explore branded experiences across the venue. Highlights include:

Exclusive product launches
GameExpo will host several debuts, including The Vintage Company’s rare memorabilia collection and a grading booth by Next Grading. Antifreeze will unveil a brand-new gaming console, with hands-on trials and daily challenges for prizes.
Benefit will feature a beach-themed stand with makeup stations, games, giveaways, and on-site glam makeovers. The brand will also support female Valorant players with themed makeup kits and backstage support for cosplayers.
