Travellers from the UAE can now fly directly from Dubai to Pokhara in Nepal, with flydubai starting daily non-stop services between Dubai International (DXB) and Pokhara International Airport (PHH).
The new route, which began on 23 September, is the first direct air link between Dubai and Western Nepal. It gives UAE-based travellers direct access to Pokhara, a major gateway for visitors heading towards the Annapurna mountain range.
Dubai-Pokhara flights: What travellers need to know
The flights operate daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International.
Return fares from Dubai start at Dhs 1,950 for Economy Class and Dhs 5,400 for Business Class, according to flydubai. The airline lists return fares from Pokhara at NPR 80,500 for Economy Class and NPR 135,000 for Business Class.
Pokhara is flydubai’s second destination in Nepal after Kathmandu. The airline now operates 35 flights a week between Dubai and Nepal, including four daily flights to Kathmandu.
For UAE residents planning a Nepal trip, the main change is that Pokhara can now be reached from Dubai without first flying to Kathmandu and continuing by another mode of transport.
Connecting through Dubai
The new service also operates under the codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates.
Passengers travelling onward through Dubai can connect to more than 140 destinations across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with single-ticket booking and through-checked baggage available under the partnership.
flydubai said popular connections from Nepal onto its network include Bucharest, Dammam, Jeddah, Muscat and Riyadh. It also identified Larnaca, Lisbon, London, New York and Vienna among the leading feeder markets from the Emirates network.
More flights between Dubai and Nepal
The route expands flydubai’s South Asia network to 20 destinations across Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with more than 380 weekly flights to the region.
The airline said it has carried more than 4.5 million passengers to and from Kathmandu since launching the route in 2009, with 65% of that traffic connecting through Dubai onto the flydubai and Emirates networks.
For travellers, the Pokhara service provides a new direct option for reaching Western Nepal, while also adding another connection point for passengers travelling between Nepal and destinations served through Dubai.
