Meta Platforms Facebook and Instagram were down in the UAE and worldwide for thousands of users on Tuesday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
Several users in the UAE said they had suddenly been logged out of Facebook and Instagram platforms. However, some users said the Facebook is back up and running after an hour.
“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X.
According to Meta’s status dashboard WhatsApp Business was also facing issues.
UK-based internet monitoring company Netblocks said on X that four Meta platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads – were “currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries.”
Facebook has three billion active monthly users while Instagram has about 1.35 billion users, according to the latest data.
Meanwhile, YouTube said it is facing loading issues.
