Etihad to upgrade Kolkata route with Airbus A321LR

Etihad Airways will introduce seasonal flights to Palma de Mallorca starting June 12, 2026, offering a new direct link between Abu Dhabi and one of Europe’s popular island destinations.

New Mediterranean route

The service will operate three times a week until mid-September 2026, connecting travellers to Palma de Mallorca, the capital of Spain’s Balearic Islands and a gateway to Ibiza and the wider Balearics. This route is the only direct connection between Asia and Palma de Mallorca.

Flights will be operated using Etihad’s Airbus A321LR. The aircraft offers features usually found on widebody planes. First-class passengers will have private suites with closing doors and fine dining options. Business class includes fully lie-flat beds in a 1-1 herringbone layout, while Economy provides spacious seating with personal entertainment screens.

“Palma de Mallorca is the perfect addition to our summer schedule,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.

“From marinas and lively nightlife to secluded coves and historic towns, Mallorca has something for every traveller. We can’t wait to connect our guests from Abu Dhabi and across our network to this Balearic gem – the ultimate summer escape aboard our new A321LR.”
