Emirati youth raise UAE flag on Africa’s highest peak

A group of young Emiratis successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, raising the UAE flag at an altitude of 5,895 metres.

The team took on the Machame Route—known as one of the most challenging paths to the summit. This route demands both physical strength and the ability to adapt to shifting weather and high-altitude conditions. The Emirati climbers managed the climb without incident, demonstrating strong planning and mental preparation.

Unlike typical trekking groups, the climbers dedicated time to prepare both physically and mentally for the high-altitude challenge. Their success was the result of disciplined planning, teamwork, and sustained focus during the multi-day expedition.

The achievement highlights the determination and resilience of the UAE’s youth. By carrying the national flag to one of the world’s Seven Summits, the climbers represented a spirit of ambition and perseverance.

The successful ascent also reflects the broader capabilities of Emirati youth to take on global challenges, not only in sport and adventure but in all fields where endurance and focus are key.
