Emaar unveils Dubai Square with world’s first drive-through mall

Emaar Properties has announced plans for Dubai Square, a new retail and entertainment destination set to become part of the large Dubai Creek Harbour development. The project includes what the company says will be the world’s first drive-through mall design.

Dubai Square

Dubai Square will cover 2.6 million square meters of retail, hospitality and commercial space. It will be located within Dubai Creek Harbour, an 11-million-square-meter waterfront development with a total estimated cost of Dhs180 billion. The wider project is planned to be around three times the size of Downtown Dubai.

Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar shared the update on social media. Construction is under way and is expected to take three years to complete.

The new destination is planned to include advanced retail technology, entertainment areas and a range of dining options. It will also be linked to Dubai Creek Tower, another major Emaar project currently being developed.

Dubai Square will include a transport network, pedestrian-friendly streets and dedicated facilities for electric vehicles. The company says the design aims to create a mixed-use environment that brings together residential, commercial and leisure elements along Dubai Creek.
