Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to experience a major increase in passenger traffic as residents return from summer holidays and students head back ahead of the new school year.
Passenger traffic forecast
More than 3.6 million travellers are expected to pass through DXB between August 13 and 25, with daily traffic averaging around 280,000. The airport’s busiest day is forecast for Friday, August 15, when numbers may exceed 290,000.
This seasonal rise follows a strong performance in the first half of 2025. Dubai welcomed 9.88 million international overnight visitors—marking a 6% year-on-year growth.
During the same period, DXB handled over 46 million guests, maintaining its status as the world’s busiest international airport.
Operational coordination underway
Dubai Airports is coordinating efforts with the wider oneDXB community, including airlines, authorities, and service partners, to manage the increase in traffic and ensure smooth operations throughout the period.

The Dubai Metro is available at Terminals 1 and 3, with additional options such as Uber, Careem, RTA taxis, and car rentals.
DXB continues to offer enhanced services for People of Determination, including clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet assistance for those wearing Sunflower Lanyards, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge at Terminal 2.
