Dubai has reinforced its status as one of the world’s top destinations for weddings with the successful second edition of the Dubai Wedding Symposium (DWS), welcoming over 100 international delegates and industry leaders from 37 countries—a 19% increase from last year.
Dubai Wedding Symposium
Held across various iconic locations in the city, the event attracted planners, influencers, and suppliers from six continents. Organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), DWS highlighted Dubai’s capability to host celebrations of any scale or style, thanks to its world-class infrastructure, exceptional service, and unmatched backdrops.
Exceptional venues and experiences
Participants explored over 25 hospitality venues and met with 40 top-tier wedding suppliers. Key event partners included Atlantis The Royal and Weddings by Emaar, offering a glimpse into Dubai’s expansive offering—from beachside ceremonies and desert celebrations to opulent ballroom receptions.
Record stakeholder participation
Dubai-based participation doubled, with 67 local partners involved. One-to-one curated meetings grew by 226%, establishing the symposium as a high-impact networking and business development platform.
Emerging trends were front and center, including the growing integration of wellness into wedding planning, with a panel discussion led by planners from India, the UK, and Australia, and experts from SIRO One Za’abeel. Renowned luxury designer Karen Tran also headlined a session, sharing insights from her global career.
According to industry forecasts, the destination wedding market is set to triple in value—from $48 billion in 2025 to $137 billion by 2029. Dubai is well-positioned to benefit, offering global connectivity, visa-on-arrival for over 50 nationalities, and a diverse hospitality scene with more than 830 hotels and resorts.
A dream destination for celebrations
With its mix of luxury, culture, and convenience, Dubai continues to attract couples seeking unforgettable wedding experiences. From MICHELIN-starred cuisine to rich cultural immersion, the city is proving itself not just as a wedding location—but as a celebration capital of the world.
