His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the Dubai Mallathon, a new initiative aimed at promoting public health by encouraging physical activity throughout the summer.

Community-focused fitness

The initiative will transform seven major Dubai shopping malls into fitness tracks, offering designated walking and running areas from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. daily throughout August.

Participating malls include Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, and Dubai Marina Mall, among others. The program targets a wide range of people, including youth, seniors, residents, and even mall employees.

Dubai Mallathon is part of the city’s broader health initiatives, such as the Year of Community and the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy. The Crown Prince emphasized that the goal is to make fitness part of daily life and build stronger, healthier communities. “Every step you take moves us closer to a healthier Dubai,” he said.

A unique indoor experience

By utilizing the vast indoor spaces of the malls, the Mallathon provides a cool, safe alternative to outdoor exercise, especially during the summer months. The initiative includes fitness-tracking tools, health awareness stations, and dedicated areas for children, encouraging a balanced, active lifestyle.

Participation in the Dubai Mallathon is free and open to all. Interested individuals can register online through the official website and receive a digital card confirming their enrollment. Special offers from local restaurants and retailers will also be available, supporting the initiative’s focus on healthy living.

This community-driven effort aims to make Dubai a global leader in wellbeing while fostering connections and healthier habits across the city.
