Aster Hospital Mankhool, listed as No. 5 on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals in the UAE, successfully restored the vision of Dhikshit Kottiyattil Anoop, a 15-year-old Indian student.

Dhikshit suffered a severe eye injury from a ballpoint pen accident on June 20, 2024, which led to immediate pain and vision loss. Initially treated at a local hospital, he was transferred to Aster Hospital Mankhool for advanced care due to a deep corneal tear.

The following day, Dhikshit underwent a delicate surgery by Dr. Parth Hemantkumar Joshi, which stabilized his condition. Despite a traumatic cataract developing, a second surgery was performed on July 25, 2024, with Dr. Joshi and Dr. Gazala Hasan Mansuri. This complex procedure involved cataract removal and lens implantation, successfully restoring Dhikshit’s vision to a significant extent.

Dr. Joshi emphasized the challenge of Dhikshit’s case and the hospital’s dedication to preserving vision. Dr. Mansuri highlighted the importance of specialized care for severe eye injuries. Dhikshit’s mother expressed deep gratitude for the medical team’s expertise and care.

The successful treatment underscores Aster Hospital Mankhool’s role in managing complex eye injuries and the importance of prompt medical intervention.
