Chery UAE, through its exclusive distributor AW Rostamani, has introduced two new plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to the local market, expanding its presence in the UAE’s growing hybrid segment.
The new models, the TIGGO 9 PHEV and Arrizo 8 PHEV, are now available across Chery showrooms in the Emirates. The launch reflects the brand’s focus on energy-efficient mobility while catering to both SUV and sedan customers.
Performance and efficiency
Both vehicles combine petrol engines with electric motors and are designed to offer long-range driving on a full tank and battery. The TIGGO 9 PHEV, a 7-seater SUV, delivers up to 610 hp and 920 Nm of combined torque, using a 1.5TGDI engine and dual electric motors.
The vehicle offers up to 170 km of pure electric range and a total combined driving range of 1,200 km.
Key features include a panoramic sunroof, co-pilot massage seats, quiet cabin glass, up to 10 airbags, and a 15.6-inch central display with a premium 14-speaker sound system.
Focus on safety and design
The Arrizo 8 PHEV sedan features a 1.5TGDI petrol engine with an electric motor, achieving a pure electric range of 118 km. Its battery system undergoes 800 safety checks every five minutes and includes IP68 water and dust resistance as well as an automatic power cut-off.
Inside, the car offers a 24.6-inch dual-screen infotainment setup and premium audio, aiming to deliver a refined driving experience in the sedan category.
Technology and connectivity
Both models support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing for wireless smartphone integration. Drivers can access navigation, entertainment, and apps directly from the vehicle’s central display.
