Dubai Metro continues to dominate the city’s public transport network, with Burjuman and Union stations emerging as the busiest in 2024.
Together, these key interchange stations recorded millions of riders, reflecting the increasing reliance on the metro system. BurJuman led with 16.2 million riders, while Union station followed with 12.9 million.
Dubai Metro Red Line
On the Red Line, Al Rigga station had the highest foot traffic, registering 13 million riders, followed by Mall of the Emirates (11.2 million) and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall (10.6 million).
Green Line
The Green Line saw Sharaf DG station lead with 9.9 million riders, followed by Baniyas (8.4 million) and Stadium (6.8 million).
In total, Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines recorded 275.4 million riders in 2024, marking a 6% increase compared to the previous year.
The Metro accounted for 37% of the city’s overall public transport ridership, underlining its essential role in Dubai’s transport infrastructure.
The increase in Metro usage aligns with Dubai’s commitment to expanding and enhancing its public transport network. In December, RTA awarded the contract for the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, which will further improve connectivity across the city and integrate with existing metro lines.
