Starting in 2024, UAE citizens must apply for an ETIAS visa to travel within Europe, including Italy. This new requirement ensures compliance with the European Travel Information and Authorization System.

How to apply for Italy Schengen visa?

Required Documents: To apply for an Italy Schengen visa from the UAE, gather the following documents:

  • Application Form: Complete and sign the Schengen visa application form.
  • Passport Photo: Provide a recent passport-sized photo with a white background.
  • Passport: Submit your valid passport with at least three months validity beyond your intended return date, containing two blank pages.
  • UAE Residence Visa: Include a copy valid for at least 90 days from your return date.
  • Trade License: Provide a copy of your valid trade license.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Obtain an NOC from your local sponsor/employer detailing your employment status and permission to travel.
  • Employment Contract: Include a copy of your employment contract.
  • Financial Proof: Show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay, such as recent pay slips and bank statements.
  • International Medical Insurance: Obtain insurance with coverage of at least €30,000, including hospitalization and repatriation benefits.
  • Accommodation and Travel Bookings: Provide confirmed bookings for hotels and flights.

Additional Requirements for Minors: If applying for a minor, additional documents such as parental consent and birth certificates are necessary.

  1. Visit VFS Global: Fill out the Schengen visa application form online and pay the required fees.
  2. Book Appointment: Schedule an appointment at the Italian Consulate General in Dubai.
  3. Interview: Attend the visa interview with all required documents in order.
  4. Tracking: Monitor your visa application status online using the reference number from your application.

  • Processing Time: Applications should be submitted at least 15 days before travel, with processing taking up to 15 calendar days from submission.

    • Children (6-12 years old): Dhs 178
    • Children under 6 years old: Free
    • Diplomatic/Service Passport Holders: Free
    • Family Members of EU/EEA Nationals: Free
    • Service Charge: Dhs 38.30 per application (cash or card).
