The UAE has launched a programme, which aims to employ 1,000 Emiratis annually in the education sector, beginning in 2024, with a four-year plan to reach a total of 4,000 Emiratis.
Launched collaboratively by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), the Teaching Specialists Programme provides specialized training and bridging programmes essential for Emirati jobseekers to meet market demands in the private education sector.
Structured into four phases, the programme encompasses administrative roles and teaching positions in areas such as Arabic language, Islamic studies, social studies, national identity, kindergarten, primary school, special education, as well as educational guidance and leadership roles.
Emirati jobseekers registered on the Nafis platform
The initiative is open to Emirati jobseekers registered on the Nafis platform, holding a bachelor’s degree in education for teaching roles, and a high school diploma for administrative and assistant positions. Interested individuals can register on the Nafis platform.
Expected to play a crucial role in supporting private educational institutions in meeting their annual Emiratisation targets, the program facilitates employment contracts through program participants or the Studying Citizen Employment Contract.
Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, expressed the programme’s focus on empowering UAE nationals in the education sector. The goal is to equip them with the necessary skills to become accomplished educators and contribute actively to building the nation’s future.

To ensure the programme’s success, Nafis has signed MoUs with prominent academic institutions, including the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University, University of Sharjah, Sharjah Education Academy, and Emirates College for Advanced Education.
These partnerships aim to enhance cooperation in implementing bridging and development programs, fostering competitiveness, and providing sustainable employment opportunities in the private education sector for Emirati jobseekers.
The academic entities will design and implement targeted training programs based on specific sector needs, supporting registration processes, examinations, admissions, and individual development plans.
