More than 500 UAE nationals from across the seven emirates attended flydubai’s UAE National Careers Open Day in Dubai, as the airline seeks to expand its pool of Emirati talent.
The event at the flydubai Campus brought together students, graduates and professionals interested in aviation careers and the airline’s training and development programmes.
Career opportunities
Visitors met flydubai’s recruitment and talent development teams and learned about opportunities in several areas, including engineering, flight operations and corporate functions.
Programmes presented at the event included the Engineering Apprentice Programme (AMEL), Flight Dispatcher Programme, Ab Initio and Second Officer pilot training programmes, and UAE National Graduate Programmes.
Nasser Binkherbash, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at flydubai, said: “We were very pleased with the strong attendance and positive feedback we received at our UAE National Careers Open Day. Welcoming more than 500 Emiratis from all seven emirates who are interested in exploring a career with flydubai demonstrates the enthusiasm and ambition of our national talent and their interest in being part of the future of aviation in the UAE.
Developing our national workforce remains a priority as flydubai continues to grow, and we are committed to creating meaningful career pathways, supported by structured training and development programmes, that enable UAE nationals to build successful long-term careers across our organisation. We look forward to welcoming more Emirati talent to flydubai and seeing them play an increasingly important role in supporting our future growth.”
Growing job demand
flydubai said its expansion is creating opportunities across flight operations, engineering and maintenance, airport operations, commercial, technology, finance and human resources.
The airline currently operates 97 Boeing 737 aircraft and has more than 300 aircraft on order for delivery over the next decade. It employs nearly 7,000 people, including about 2,000 pilots and engineers.
The airline said its fleet and network expansion is expected to create thousands of additional career opportunities across the organisation.
The careers open day is part of flydubai’s efforts to support the UAE’s national workforce agenda through training, mentorship and long-term career development for Emirati professionals.
