Travellers flying with Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi can reduce their time at the airport by using a range of pre-flight and arrival services, including home check-in, remote bag drop, priority airport access and baggage delivery.
The airline says the services are designed to make the journey through Zayed International Airport easier for passengers travelling in both economy and premium cabins.
Home check-in
Passengers can complete check-in from their home or hotel through Etihad’s partner, Morafiq. A check-in agent prints boarding passes, tags luggage and sends bags directly to the airport before the traveller leaves.
The service can be booked between 24 hours and five hours before departure. Prices start from Dhs185 for up to two bags, with additional bags costing Dhs35 each. The service is complimentary for guests travelling in The Residence and First Deluxe.
City check-in
Travellers can also check in and drop off their luggage at selected city locations before heading to the airport.
Remote check-in facilities are available at Cruise Terminal 1, Mussafah, Madinat Zayed and Lulu Hypermarket in Al Ain, allowing passengers to check in up to 24 hours before departure.
Airport services
Business Class, First and The Residence passengers have access to dedicated check-in areas and priority immigration facilities at Zayed International Airport.
Passengers can also purchase Priority Access, which includes dedicated check-in, priority boarding and faster baggage delivery on arrival. The service is free for Business, First and The Residence guests and is available for Economy passengers at an additional cost.
Meet and assist
Etihad also offers a Meet & Assist service, where a personal host guides passengers through the airport from check-in to departure.
A VIP option includes access to a private terminal, dedicated check-in, porter service, lounge access and transport to the aircraft. Meet & Assist Plus also provides lounge access at more than 100 airports across the airline’s network.
Chauffeur service
Passengers travelling in premium cabins can use Etihad’s complimentary chauffeur service between Zayed International Airport and locations across the UAE. The service is also available in many destinations across the airline’s international network.
Baggage delivery
Passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi can use Etihad’s “Land & Leave” service, which allows them to leave the airport while their luggage is collected and delivered to their address within three hours.
The service starts from Dhs125 for up to two bags and is free for passengers travelling in The Residence and First.
Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “A calm start makes for a better journey. Whether a guest checks in from home, is met at the door of the terminal or waits in a lounge, the aim is the same, to give guests back the time and peace of mind that travel can otherwise take away.”
