The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) has launched the field phase of its Thank You UAE campaign, starting with a visit to Dubai Customs as part of a nationwide programme to encourage people to share messages of gratitude to the UAE.
Campaign launch
The field campaign began on Tuesday at Dubai Customs headquarters, where H.E. Dr Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, recorded the first message on the campaign platform in the presence of H.E. Khalifa Ibrahim Al Saleis, CEO of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency.
Dubai Customs employees then recorded their own messages using tablets installed at the headquarters. The campaign remains open to all employees and customers through the platform.
The initiative invites Emiratis, residents, visitors and friends of the UAE to record personal messages expressing their thanks to the country.
Growing participation
“The finest thing a person can offer the country that took them in is a sincere word of thanks,” said Al Saleis. “Since the founding of the Union, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan set a course that made people the country’s real wealth and the foundation of its development — a course our leadership continues to build on. The campaign has recorded 160,000 messages to date. We are working towards a million, and towards a national record that preserves these accounts for the generations to come.”
According to Al Saleis, the campaign platform has received more than 453,000 visits since its launch, with messages submitted by people from more than 136 nationalities.
He said the field visits are designed to complement the online platform. Dubai Customs was selected as the first stop because of its national role and position among Dubai’s leading government entities. The campaign will continue with visits to government, semi-government and private sector organisations in Dubai before expanding across the UAE.
H.E. Dr Abdulla Busenad said hosting the first field event of the campaign was a source of pride for Dubai Customs and reflected the importance of an initiative that provides a platform for people to express gratitude to the UAE and its leadership.
He added that selecting Dubai Customs to launch the field phase reflected confidence in the department’s national role, noting that loyalty and belonging are demonstrated through work, achievement and dedication.
