Louvre Abu Dhabi has introduced a new 45-minute guided tour for the summer, giving visitors a closer look at artworks and artefacts added to the museum’s collection this year.
The “New Highlights and Discoveries Tour” takes visitors through the museum’s four wings and features a selection of recent acquisitions and loans from regional and international institutions.
Among the new works are The Triumph of David, a 17th-century artwork made of painted and gilded leather panels, a Kota-Obamba reliquary figure from Gabon, a Roman cameo and a Mamluk mosque lamp.
The tour also includes an Early Dilmun jar from Bahrain and a Neolithic statue-menhir from Western Europe.
According to the museum, the tour explores artistic traditions from early Gulf civilisations to classical, modern and contemporary periods, highlighting cultural connections across different regions and time periods.
