Paid parking has been introduced in key commercial areas of Mohamed Bin Zayed City as authorities expand efforts to manage traffic and improve parking availability.
The system has been activated by Q Mobility under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre, part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
Areas covered
The rollout includes commercial sectors ME10 and ME11, along with main street areas within villa zones Z17-01, Z19, Z20 and Z27.
In total, the plan covers 11,030 parking spaces. This includes 6,666 spaces in ME10, 3,758 in ME11, and smaller allocations across nearby villa zones.
Residential villa areas will also see stricter rules, with parking limited to permit holders to protect access for residents.
Parking fees
A fee of Dhs2 per hour will apply to standard parking spaces. Payments can be made through the Darb and TAMM mobile applications, SMS or parking machines installed in the area.
Dedicated parking spaces have also been allocated for People of Determination.
Traffic management
Officials said the move is aimed at reducing random parking and easing congestion in one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest residential and commercial districts.
Mohamed Bin Zayed City sees high daily traffic due to the number of employees and visitors, with limited parking often affecting access to businesses.
The new system is expected to improve traffic flow and make it easier for visitors to reach commercial and service outlets.
