Dubai pilots shared school transport service using luxury SUVs

Dubai has launched a pilot shared school transport service using luxury SUVs, aimed at reducing costs for families and easing traffic around school zones.

The initiative, rolled out on January 14, is a partnership between the Roads and Transport Authority and global technology firm Yango Group.

How the service works

The service is available to students aged 14 and above and operates on shared routes serving multiple schools. Vehicles are monitored through live tracking and digital trip management systems.

The monthly fee has been set at Dhs1,000, with online payments required. Travel time is capped at 60 minutes per journey.

The pilot currently serves students attending Bloom Academy, Brighton College, GEMS Founders School, GEMS Al Barsha National School, Dubai American Academy and the American School of Dubai.

Feedback from families and schools will be used to assess potential expansion across the city.
