The Moscow City Tourism Committee launched a promotional tour across the Middle East to strengthen tourism ties and build long-lasting partnerships in the region.

With the UAE standing out as a key market, the committee aims to boost visitor numbers, enhance cooperation, and highlight Moscow as a top destination for travellers from the Middle East.

42,700 visitors travelled to Moscow

Tourism between Moscow and the UAE has seen exceptional growth. In the first nine months of 2024, around 42,700 visitors travelled to Moscow, a significant increase compared to 2019, with nearly all of them visiting for leisure.

Wego, a popular travel platform, recently reported that Moscow topped the list of most-searched European destinations by UAE travellers during the Christmas and New Year holiday season, alongside recommendations for festive activities.

Thanks to visa-free entry and 239 weekly direct flights between Moscow and the UAE, travel has become much easier, further boosting Moscow’s status as a leading destination for Middle Eastern visitors.

In Dubai, officials discussed ways to make Moscow even more appealing to UAE tourists through cultural exchange, exclusive events, and customized travel experiences.

Tourism from the Middle East to Moscow covers a variety of sectors, including group, family, corporate, medical, and sports tourism, each offering tailored, immersive experiences.

Arabic-language options

To improve the experience for Middle Eastern visitors, Moscow is investing in hospitality, infrastructure, and services. The city is expanding its luxury accommodations, improving Arabic-language options, and offering unique culinary experiences to meet the preferences of Middle Eastern tourists.

“Moscow is rapidly becoming a preferred destination for tourists from the Middle East thanks to our well-developed infrastructure, mild climate, and unique blend of modern amenities with rich Russian traditions.

Discover Moscow

“Our official tourism portal, Discover Moscow, serves as an invaluable resource for international visitors, providing essential travel information and guiding them through the city’s attractions. With over 22,000 dining options, an unrivaled shopping scene, and an iconic metro system that doubles as a cultural landmark, Moscow offers an enriching experience for every visitor,” said Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee.

As Moscow continues to position itself as a must-visit global destination, expanding strategic partnerships with the UAE remains a priority. The city is set to introduce innovative tourism formats, immersive cultural experiences, and expanded guided tours to attract more visitors from the UAE and beyond.

Tourists from the UAE increasingly view Moscow as a new and unique destination offering high-end experiences, including luxury shopping and five-star accommodations. UAE travellers represent a key segment of Moscow’s growing tourism industry.
