Expect rainy weather in UAE until Saturday: NCM

In some parts of the UAE, it rained on Wednesday due to the current weather conditions, and this might continue until Saturday (Feb.3), according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM expects Thursday’s weather to be partly to mostly cloudy, especially in the northern and eastern areas, with light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, causing dust and sand. The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s forecast includes partly to mostly cloudy weather, some clouds in the north and east, a chance of rain, and a temperature decrease. Winds will be moderate to strong, southeasterly becoming northwesterly, possibly stirring dust with rough seas.

On Saturday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy and hazy, with a significant temperature decrease. Winds will be moderate to strong, northwesterly, with very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and rough seas in the Sea of Oman.

Rain lashes several parts of the UAE

Rain was observed in areas like Ramah, Seih Allhmah in Al Ain, Al Ain – Abu Dhabi road, and Al Ajban, Al Shahama, and Sweihan in Abu Dhabi.

The lowest temperature on Wednesday was 9.7°C in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, at 04:45 am. The NCM warned drivers to be careful during rainfall, advising them to avoid places with water accumulation.

Abu Dhabi Police also urged safe driving practices during rainy days, emphasizing following speed limits, maintaining distance, avoiding sudden braking, and pulling over if visibility is poor.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate advised motorists to follow safety rules, avoid reckless driving and drifting, and adhere to traffic laws during rainfall. They suggested keeping windows clean, maintaining lights, and using good tires for safety.

Abu Dhabi Police recommended staying away from valleys and water gatherings and following safety instructions during rainfall.
