Emaar highlights local partnerships at Make it in the Emirates

Emaar Properties has concluded its participation in the fifth edition of Make it in the Emirates, where the developer focused on expanding ties with UAE-based manufacturers and suppliers.

The event, held from May 4 to 7 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, brought together manufacturers, investors and industry leaders to support the country’s industrial sector and local value creation.

Industry event

This year’s edition, held under the theme “Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger.”, attracted more than 122,500 visitors, 1,000 exhibitors and 300 speakers, according to organisers. Previous editions of the event facilitated more than Dhs168 billion in offtake agreements.

During the exhibition, Emaar engaged with local manufacturers, suppliers and industry stakeholders to discuss opportunities for integrating locally produced materials and services into its projects.

The company presented an exhibition experience under the theme “Built by Vision. Powered by Emirati Talent,” highlighting its activities across real estate, retail, hospitality and tourism.

The showcase also focused on the company’s support for local suppliers, Emirati talent development and procurement from UAE-based businesses.

Panel discussion

Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, took part in a panel discussion titled “Adaptive by Design – Family Businesses as Pillars of Resilience and Continuity” during the opening day of the event.

He spoke about lessons from previous economic cycles and the importance of long-term planning and resilience in maintaining growth during changing market conditions.

Local procurement

Emaar said its participation aligns with its collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology under the National In-Country Value Programme.

The company said it continues to include local content considerations in its procurement strategy and encourage supplier certification to support UAE-based enterprises and national talent.

According to Emaar, the total value of contracts awarded by the company has reached nearly Dhs70 billion, reflecting its focus on strengthening local supply chains within the UAE.
