Dubai unveils exciting Eid Al Etihad celebrations to mark 53rd National Day

Dubai is set to host a spectacular series of events from 28 November to 3 December 2024 to celebrate the UAE’s 53rd Union Day, marking the formation of the United Arab Emirates. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), these celebrations promise an unforgettable experience with a dazzling mix of fireworks, cultural performances, exclusive hotel offers, thrilling sporting events, and much more.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), expressed excitement about this year’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations, saying, “This year’s celebration honors the incredible journey of the UAE and its leaders. As the UAE marks 53 years of unity, we invite residents and visitors alike to experience the diverse cultural events across the city, from concerts and family entertainment to shopping and immersive cultural experiences.”

Dazzling Fireworks Across Dubai

Dubai’s skyline will light up with mesmerizing fireworks displays throughout the Eid Al Etihad weekend:

  • 1 December: Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR at 8:00 PM
  • 2 December: Hatta at 8:00 PM, Dubai Festival City Mall at 9:10 PM
  • 3 December: Al Seef at 9:00 PM

These stunning shows will bring the city to life, offering a breathtaking display of lights and color.

National Pride on Full Display

Dubai will showcase its patriotism with vibrant displays of the UAE flag’s colors—black, red, white, and green—across iconic landmarks, malls, and buildings. Key locations will feature 11 grand decorations and 12 grand flag structures, including at Dubai World Trade Centre, Global Village, and major bridges, creating a stunning visual tribute to the UAE’s spirit of unity.

Immersive Cultural Experiences

City Walk – A Cultural Extravaganza

On 2 December, City Walk will host a grand celebration from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, featuring over 200 performers, including flag bearers, fabric dancers, acrobats, and traditional bands. The celebration will culminate with a live performance by Emirati singer Mohamed Al Shehhi from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

UAE Reimagined Exhibition

From 1 to 3 December, Ibn Battuta Mall will present the UAE Reimagined exhibition, showcasing innovative artwork celebrating the nation’s heritage. Visitors can enjoy interactive workshops, including henna art, bracelet making, and traditional live music performances from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Global Village Celebrates Emirati Culture

Global Village will host the “Hawa Emirati” Operetta from 1 to 3 December, accompanied by fireworks at 9:00 PM. Additionally, the UAE Pavilion and other cultural pavilions will offer visitors a chance to explore Emirati flavors and traditions.

Live Entertainment for All Ages

Dubai’s entertainment scene will be in full swing, with live performances from world-renowned artists and exciting events:

  • Jalsat Moments (28 November): Featuring top Arabic singers at Coca-Cola Arena.
  • Cirque Du Liban’s Pluma Circus (28–30 November): A thrilling family performance at Dubai Festival City Mall.
  • Amr Diab (30 November): Live at Dubai Harbour, bringing legendary Egyptian music to the city.
  • The Streets (30 November): A highly anticipated grime, garage, and hip-hop show at Coca-Cola Arena.
  • AKS Dance Festival (30 November–1 December): A celebration of Bollywood and Indo-tech music at Zero Gravity.
