Dubai rolls out 'Work from Park' plan for residents and freelancers

Dubai Municipality has introduced a new initiative aimed at turning public parks into flexible spaces where work and leisure can take place together, reflecting Dubai’s growing focus on hybrid work lifestyles and urban wellbeing.

The programme, titled the “Work from Park” initiative, will begin rolling out across selected parks in the emirate, with the first dedicated site planned for Al Barsha Pond Park in May 2026.

Initiative launch

The initiative was launched to reshape how public parks are used, allowing them to function not only as recreational areas but also as spaces that support day-to-day work needs. It aims to integrate productivity into green public spaces while maintaining their community and leisure role.

Dubai Municipality said the project is part of its efforts to activate public parks as multi-functional urban assets that reflect modern living and working patterns.

The initiative also aligns with the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy, the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, and supports the broader goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Park partnerships

To support implementation, Dubai Municipality has signed two Memoranda of Cooperation with Group AMANA and Letswork LLC.

Under the agreement, Group AMANA, through DuBox, will build the first “Work from Park” destination at Al Barsha Pond Park using off-site modular construction methods focused on speed, flexibility, and sustainability.

Letswork LLC will be responsible for activating and operating the workspaces across participating parks. The platform will provide access to different working setups, including hot desks, event spaces, podcast studios, and creative production areas.

Flagship location

The first location at Al Barsha Pond Park is expected to serve as a model for future sites. It will include modular workspaces designed to meet sustainability standards and will be integrated into the park’s existing natural environment.

Additional “Work from Park” locations are planned across Dubai’s parks over the course of the year, expanding the concept to more communities.

Work model expansion

The initiative is designed to support entrepreneurs, freelancers, small and medium-sized businesses, and remote workers by offering accessible outdoor work environments.

Letswork will also introduce programmes aimed at supporting content creators, including dedicated creative spaces and sessions focused on skills development, entrepreneurship, and collaboration opportunities.

Dubai Municipality said the partnerships will help ensure coordination across design, development, and operations, while also encouraging private sector involvement through a public-private partnership model. The approach is expected to support investment and contribute to a more innovation-driven urban economy.
