Arabian Healthcare Group (AHG), the parent company of RAK Hospital, has launched its Master Strategic Plan 2027. Developed in partnership with CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the US, the plan is designed to address the growing healthcare demands of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), especially with the introduction of mandatory health insurance in the region this year.
New hospital and expanded urgent care clinics
The strategic plan includes two major projects: the construction of a new 209-bed multispecialty hospital and the expansion of Urgent Care clinics. The new hospital will follow a successful healthcare model developed by CommonSpirit Health, aiming to provide high-quality care across the emirate.
The hospital will serve a wide range of patients, offering specialized care for those with premium insurance, while RAK Hospital will continue to focus on serving those with mid- and lower-tier coverage.
Scheduled to open in Q3 2027, the new 41,767-square-meter hospital will be located along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, offering convenient access for patients from surrounding areas. The facility will integrate cutting-edge technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning, to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
The hospital will be designed with separate areas for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services, and will incorporate sustainable infrastructure with solar power and future expansion capacity.
Expansion of urgent care clinics
In addition to the new hospital, AHG will expand its network of Urgent Care clinics throughout RAK. These clinics, designed to provide immediate non-emergency medical care, will follow a hub-and-spoke model, linking back to the main hospital. New locations will include Al Dhait, Al Maried, and Al Ghail, while the existing clinic in Al Hamra will be relocated to a larger facility. Services will range from routine check-ups to pediatric care, gynecology, dental services, and dermatology.
These clinics will be open 24/7 to address minor emergencies and provide accessible healthcare close to home. For more specialized treatments, patients will be referred to the new hospital, ensuring a seamless care experience.
Accessible and high-quality care
Dr. Raza Siddiqui, CEO of AHG, highlighted the group’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare across all levels, from primary care to specialized services. He noted that with the implementation of mandatory health insurance, there will be greater demand for healthcare services, presenting an opportunity to further enhance offerings.
“We aim to set new standards for healthcare in the UAE and beyond, with a focus on advanced technologies and patient-centered care,” said Dr. Siddiqui. “Through this expansion, we also plan to enhance our medical tourism, chronic disease management, and preventive healthcare services.”
A vision for the future
Dr. Ashendu Pandey, CEO of RAK Hospital, emphasized that the expansion is not just about increasing capacity, but about transforming healthcare delivery in the region. By incorporating the latest technology and infrastructure, the new developments will provide high-quality care in a patient-friendly environment.
The expansion of Urgent Care clinics will also help ease pressure on emergency rooms, offering cost-effective, immediate care for non-emergency situations and ensuring that residents can access timely medical attention.
With the backing of CommonSpirit Health, AHG is focused on becoming the leading healthcare provider in RAK. The partnership will enhance healthcare accessibility, ensuring that quality medical services are available to all members of the community.
