The Far East accounts for 40% of international travel interest among UAE residents planning National Day holidays, with Europe following at 35%, according to musafir.com.
Far East leads UAE holiday demand
Travel interest in the Far East is rising ahead of the UAE National Day break, with Vietnam emerging as a popular choice over the past two years.
According to travel insights from musafir.com, the region accounts for 40% of holiday interest, followed by Europe at 35%. CIS countries, Turkey and other destinations make up the remaining 25%.
Among individual destinations, Vietnam, Turkey, Russia, Bali and Switzerland-Paris combinations are attracting interest.
Families account for 55% of travellers, while couples represent 35% and solo travellers 10%. Average international holiday spending is estimated at Dhs 5,000 per person.
Families drive international holiday bookings
The figures suggest that family holidays remain a major part of UAE residents’ travel plans.
Booking patterns also vary by destination. European holidays are generally planned six to eight weeks ahead, while Far East trips are booked around four to six weeks in advance. CIS holidays typically have a shorter planning window of approximately two weeks.
Some travellers are also combining the National Day break with longer winter holidays.
Raheesh Babu, Chief Operating Officer at musafir.com, said: “UAE travellers are increasingly seeking holidays that combine value, convenience and memorable experiences. The Far East is attracting strong interest for its cultural diversity and attractive packages, while CIS destinations remain popular for shorter getaways. Europe continues to hold a special appeal, especially for families who dream of experiencing snowfall, festive Christmas markets or the Northern Lights, experiences that often feature on their once-in-a-lifetime wish lists.
“Travellers heading to Europe during National Day have largely planned ahead, considering visa requirements. However, those considering winter holidays can still explore Europe, with musafir.com offering guaranteed Schengen visa appointments for eligible travellers and comprehensive visa assistance. Across destinations, our collaborations with leading international airlines, curated itineraries and end-to-end travel support help make journeys seamless and memorable.”
