Matthew Syed Consulting has appointed ecap, an emerging and frontier markets advisory firm, as its Regional Lead for the Middle East.
ecap has been Matthew Syed Consulting’s longest-standing accredited partner in the Middle East for Mindset Advantage, their flagship growth mindset psychometric. Since 2020, all its Managing Partners have been accredited to use the diagnostic in leadership assessment work across the region.
The appointment widens that mandate. Under the name ecap advantage, ecap is authorised to sell and deliver Matthew Syed Consulting’s psychometric suite across the Middle East, and to accredit in-house and third-party practitioners in Mindset Advantage.
Matthew Syed, Co-Founder of Matthew Syed Consulting, said: “When we first launched our partnership with ecap in 2020, I said that we had a very bright future together. This moment, the start of a new chapter with ecap as our Regional Lead for the Middle East, is undoubtedly part of this future coming to fruition.
We remain steadfast in our goal for this partnership: to build high-performance cultures that are agile, adaptable and resilient to the times we’re in. Appointing ecap as our Regional Lead for the Middle East not only affirms our commitment to this, but gives us new and enhanced opportunities to support clients to achieve even more.”
Daniel Murphy, Senior Managing Partner & Co-Founder of ecap, said: “Throughout my career, I have seen organisations across this region appoint leaders largely on track record. Past achievements matter, but reveal only so much about how someone will learn, adapt and respond under pressure. As AI reshapes work and national transformation programmes create new leadership demands across the GCC, those qualities deserve greater attention.
ecap advantage brings greater rigour to that judgement through Matthew Syed Consulting’s Mindset Advantage, a research-based psychometric assessing nine core growth mindset attitudes and behaviours, including agility and humility. It helps us explore how leaders approach feedback, embrace new challenges and recognise potential in others—qualities that matter as they guide teams through AI adoption and question established ways of working.
Our appointment as Regional Lead allows us to bring these insights to more clients, coaches and advisers across the Gulf, building a community of practitioners who can apply them to leadership selection and development. This region has considerable talent. The opportunity is to make better-informed decisions about that talent and help leaders develop as technology and the demands of their roles evolve.”
Alongside direct corporate delivery, ecap advantage will establish the regional training and accreditation framework for Mindset Advantage.
This creates a new opportunity for coaches, leadership consultants and organisational development professionals across the Middle East. Accredited practitioners will be licensed to use Mindset Advantage in their own client work, supported by regional pricing, ongoing business support and access to the practitioner community established by ecap.
