OMODA & JAECOO showcases driverless parking technology in UAE

OMODA & JAECOO is promoting its VPD (Valet Parking Driver) technology as part of its push toward smarter mobility solutions designed for urban lifestyles in the UAE and other global markets.

The system, which was demonstrated at the Beijing Auto Show and the Chery International Business Summit, allows vehicles to park and move autonomously using smart summon features.

Smart parking system

The VPD technology includes functions such as “Come When Called” and “Leave When Waved”, enabling cars to navigate to and from designated pickup and parking points without driver input.

The system is designed for use in locations such as shopping malls, hotels, business districts and residential developments, where parking can often be time-consuming.

In the Gulf region, where high temperatures can affect outdoor activity, the technology allows users to stay indoors while their vehicle arrives at a selected pickup point.

Urban mobility focus

OMODA & JAECOO said the system aims to reduce parking-related delays and improve convenience in busy urban environments, particularly during peak traffic hours and large public events.

The company also showcased its wider mobility ecosystem, including AiMOGA Robotics technology, which forms part of its long-term plan to integrate artificial intelligence into transport and lifestyle applications.

Shawn Xu, Chief Executive Officer of OMODA & JAECOO Automobile International, said: “VPD represents the next step in our intelligent mobility ecosystem and reflects OMODA & JAECOO’s commitment to bringing advanced innovation and practical convenience to everyday driving experiences.”

“As urban lifestyles continue evolving globally and in key markets such as the UAE, consumers are increasingly seeking smarter and more intuitive technologies that enhance luxury, comfort and driving enjoyment. Through innovations like VPD, we aim to redefine how users interact with their vehicles in modern urban environments,” he added.

Market growth

OMODA & JAECOO said its AI-powered mobility ecosystem also includes advanced driver assistance systems and smart connectivity features.

The company recently surpassed one million global vehicle sales within three years. In the UAE, it has crossed 5,000 vehicle sales and continues to expand its retail and aftersales operations across the country.
