Union Coop has confirmed that it has completed its operational preparations for Eid Al Adha, with plans in place to ensure steady availability of sacrificial livestock across its outlets in Dubai and the UAE.

The retail cooperative said it has worked in advance with approved local and international suppliers to secure sufficient livestock for the festive season. The aim is to meet expected demand while maintaining health and veterinary standards set by UAE authorities.

According to the company, the approach also helps ensure a wider choice of livestock for consumers with different preferences and budgets.

Union Coop said this year’s offerings include several types of sacrificial livestock, such as local breeds, Naimi, Somali, and other varieties.

It noted that local and Naimi breeds continue to see the highest demand due to consumer preference and perceived quality.

Prices for sacrificial livestock start from Dhs 895 per animal.

To manage demand during Eid, Union Coop has introduced pre-booking services through its branches, mobile application, and digital platforms. Customers can also make secure online pre-payments.

The cooperative said these services are designed to reduce waiting times and simplify the purchasing process during the busy holiday period.

Bookings can be made at Union Coop branches across Dubai, with customers receiving livestock according to the specifications selected in advance.

Mohamed Al Hashemi, Chief Executive Officer of Union Coop, said the organisation continues to strengthen its livestock supply chain each year to maintain stability and quality.

He said Union Coop is also focusing on expanding sourcing channels and supporting food security goals in the UAE by prioritising local suppliers when possible, while also importing from selected international markets to ensure consistent availability.
