A Dubai resident originally from a small fishing village in Sri Lanka has won a Gold Mercedes-Benz S-Class 500, turning years of personal savings into a life-changing prize.
The win came through the Dubai Gold District’s ‘Shop & Win’ campaign, which ran from 11 December 2024 to 8 February 2025. During the promotion, shoppers received one raffle entry for every Dhs 500 spent at participating gold, jewellery, and watch stores across the district.
The winner, who had been saving to purchase gold, said he never expected to receive such a reward. He described the moment as transformative and expressed his gratitude, adding: “Keep going. Everything you need will come to you at the right time.”
Dubai Gold District has welcomed shoppers from more than 147 nationalities this year. The district houses over 1,000 retailers in categories including gold, jewellery, perfumery, cosmetics, and lifestyle. It is considered a key destination for residents and visitors looking to invest in gold with confidence.
