Remittances from Pakistanis working overseas, particularly from the UAE, reached record levels in December 2025, reflecting strong confidence in the government, according to Khurram Shehzad, Adviser to the Finance Minister.

Shehzad reported that Pakistanis in the UAE sent $726 million in December 2025, second only to Saudi Arabia’s $813 million. Remittances from the UK and the US amounted to $560 million and $302 million respectively.

In total, remittances in December 2025 exceeded $3.6 billion, up 17 per cent from December 2024 and 13 per cent from November 2025. During the first half of fiscal year 2026, total remittances reached $19.7 billion, marking a 41 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. Shehzad expressed confidence that total inflows for fiscal year 2026 would surpass $41 billion.

Khurram Shehzad highlighted that the rising remittances underscore the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the national economy. He said this engagement “was a guarantee of long-term economic stability, sustainable development and a brighter future for Pakistan.”
